This is a high-level estimate, not tax or B-BBEE advice. Section 12H allowances apply to learnership agreements registered with a SETA and entered into on or before 31 March 2027 (NQF 1–6: R40 000 annual + R40 000 completion per learner; NQF 7–10: R20 000 + R20 000). The annual allowance is pro-rated for partial years and the completion allowance is claimed in the year of completion. Cash savings are estimated at the 27% company tax rate. SDL is 1% of payroll for employers with payroll above R500 000; up to 20% is recoverable via the mandatory grant. The 6% skills target applies to Generic entities under the Amended B-BBEE Codes. Always confirm figures with your tax practitioner and B-BBEE verification agency.
